Fort Folly First Nation Fishing Vessels

The Fort Folly First Nation has branched off into the fisheries. We have 3 boats presently underway and docked. One is located in Sambro, NS and the other 2 are in Parrsboro, NS. Each boat has a captain and fishes about 6 months of the year. We have 2 lobster boats that go out during the lobster season which is in the spring (May ‘til July) and the fall (Oct ‘til Dec).

The Chief Stephenson Bernard is our 54 footer vessel and was purchased in 2001. It's on its fifth year fishing for swordfish with a by catch for tuna but not blue fin. The Sassy Sue is one of our lobster vessels which also carries a scallop license. The Melanie Dawn is another one of our vessels and is being used to fish lobster as well. .
